How do you get ich from WC? Guess you've gotta just live & learn...
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

The only thing I learned from that experience was that If you do too many WC's, it will stress your fish, and they will be 10X more susceptible to disease. And the prognosis for scale-less fish is longer than normal fish. I didn't add any new fish, didn't add any new plants, didn't put in any water w/ ich, or do anything else that might have caused ich. Other than the water changes. Guess I DO live and learn.

What size tank are they going into? What size tank were they in? It bugs me that so many fish stores sell GSP's and F8's to people who have NO idea whatsoever that they need brackish, then marine water.

They are going from a 55 to a 75. Trust me, they are just fine. I am aware of the care that they require. I'm not Walmart.. :P

That's great! I can't believe you use a 55G for fry. That's my tank!

I want to give them enough room and I have quite the setup. I am going to start shipping whole-sale eventually.

I've never bred fish.... What stops the fry from getting sucked into the filter? I worried about my DP getting stuck in the filter for the first day or two until I saw him swim right by it.

In the first 2 weeks of the life of the fry you do not use a filter system. It is a bare bottom tank completely wrapped with black except for the top. You have an airstone to keep the water oxygenated and you do water changes atleast 2 times a day to remove waste. After the 2 weeks if the fry are big enough then they can be transfered into a rearing tank with substrate and filters etc.

I bet they're like 1000 page books on how to breed fish. Nice summary! Figured it was something like that. How big of WC's? Like 20% or so?

25% and it has to be heated water. You have to keep a steady temperature of 80 degrees F or fungus will set in.

Seems like puffers. They're so stupidly sensitive. But at least fry have an excuse. Puffers are just dumb. Even though I have one. Okay, okay, they rock.

I love it though. If I could breed puffs I would but clownfish are my thing.

I can't imagine how much of a nightmare that would be.

Regular Fish= 100% Sensitivity
Puffer Fish= 2X as sensitive
Fry= 2X as sensitive

HOB? Okay, maybe the Acronyms are a little HTKUW (Hard to Keep Up With). How sad. Do they breed that easily?
