advice please

Post by matt28781 »

what foods can i offer to my arrow head to help keep the teeth down, i read that no matter what you try you can't avoid trimming them in the end but id like to help. at the moment they are fine and he is eating well i have offerd him a small golden apple snail which crawls over his mouth all the time with no reaction from the puffer so im guessing he wont eat snails. any ideas what i can try to help trim the teeth? any advice welcome.

thank you.

matt.

Have you tried crushing the snail's shell on the glass first so the smell of fresh meat gets to your puffer? He might be more willing to eat it then. After that he'll know that snails are food and you won't need to crush it first.
Good luck!

Although the arrowhead isn't one of the puffers with cronic dentistry problems, it is important to offer him crunchy foods. Look into the feeding articles in our Library.
