dwarf puffer and pleco

Post by azntank »

i plan on getting 2 dwarf puffers soon and was just wondering if they will be ok together. i just picked up a 10 gallon tank thats heavily planted and has tons of hiding spots. it came with a 5 inch pleco but i also 3 inch pleco. would it be risky to keep the 5 incher in there or should i switch it with the 3incher. can anyone help me? thanks

I'd see if the LFS will take the plecos. Not only will DPs pick on them, they grow to 18".

Personally I don' t keep common plecos as I find they make more poop than they clean up algae....that is why we have scrub pads and razor blades.

That said I have an 8 inch Adonis Pleco with my DPs in a community tank with no troubles back or forth. I don' t see a 3-5 inch pleco getting roudy, but bigger they may and their thrashing won' t be appreciated.
