So excited, new dwarf puffers!!

Hey all, I have been here before but a while ago. I was in the brackish section with figure 8 puffers. Mine are still going strong and doing well.

I was at petsmart today getting stuff for dogs/cats/snake when I saw they had in dwarf puffers. I have always wanted them so I got 5 for a 20g. I have the tank but there was no water in it so I filled it up, put in live plants from other tanks and established media from another tank. I know it should of been established before I bought but I have never seen them there before. I plan on putting more plants in when I get the gravel in. Right now I have 2 huge java ferns and 2 crypts in pots. The plants probably has snails in them so they should be set.

What else do people use to cut line of vision?

If I put in some adult rams and pond snails would they be ok? I would like them to make babies for a constant diet of snails then I would supplement with frozen blood worms?

I will be watching and testing since this tank isn't completely established. I usually do wc's every week. Is that good for dwarfs too?

Weekly water changes are great for dwarves but I would do them about every3 days untill the tank is more established. Also by rams im assuming you mean Ramshorn snails? Chances are the dps will eat them before they can make enough babies but you might as well try.

Congrats Beth, on getting a fish you've been seeking! I love that feeling.

I do weekly 50% WC's on all my tanks, and that keeps my fish in excellent health.

Plan on feeding them mostly blood worms, and it's best to cultivate the snails in a separate place if you can.
