I am planning on getting a single DP in a few months from now and I am planning on putting it in a 6 gallon tank if I can locate one online, or otherwise. I was wondering would this be an ok size for a DP? I had heard its recommended to give them 3gs per fish so I figured something like 6gs would be perfect. I would have liked to get more then just one...but I simply don't have the room to put up another 10g tank right now since I am using one for two female mice I own and another is getting set up for three Hermit crab additions to the house. So if I can get by with it I would like to just keep the 6g tank in mind for this little guy and maybe try more later on.
If you guys have advise on where to go to look for this type of tank or how to cycle it that would be much appreciated thank you!
for a 6 gallon tank would 1 DP work ok?

1 dp would be perfect!
They need plenty of plants and decorations to keep them occupied.
There are a number of ways to cycle a tank. Check out the fishless cycling article in the library(under the learn tab)

Thank you very much for the help...I can't really get started on searching for a tank or a fish just yet because I still have bills for my next semester right now but in a few months I will try to track down a tank and a filter for the tank. Should I look at getting a mini heater for the tank too? I am very new to puffer so I need all the help I can get.flamesofifreet wrote:1 dp would be perfect!
