New Carinotetraodon Salivator
New Carinotetraodon Salivator
I decided against iether a Suvatti or Palembang as my local LFS got some Salivator/Zebra Puffers in. So i purchased a male and female and they are currently getting on well.

Welcome to the site

Be prepared to seperate them the minute the male starts being persistently aggressive towards the female, took about a week for this to happen with mine.
Good luck.

Re: New Carinotetraodon Salivator
Isn't C. Salivator really unusual to see in trade? (I could be wrong)
I really want one though. I thought they looked beautiful from the pics I saw on pufferpedia. =]

I have never seen them though my LFS say they can get any puffer you want. They also say that GSP are FW fish and that Mbu can go in a 4ft tank!!!!

Re: New Carinotetraodon Salivator
They are fairly common up my way, Ultimate Aquatics have them regularly for about £25-£35 each depending on size.
MY male and female lived in harmony for ages, bbut as mentioned be prepared for the carnage to ensue and spit them if required

Re: New Carinotetraodon Salivator
I got one from Japanese Koi, a local LFS. They were selling it as a Dwarf puffer. I hadn't seen them for sale anywhere before, however i went to maidenhead aquatics in St Albans, and they had 4 pairs that had just come in (they were selling them as pairs). However one of the females was in a bad way, so i managed to buy a single male. They have 3 females and 2 males left now as one of the males died last week.
Absulutely cracking puffers, it's been a week together now and they are getting on allright, however they keep away from each other. They are active during the night and normally sit the day out in one of the plants. I'll have to get some pics and post them.
Lets hope things run smoothly between them.

£895 for a cayman, who would have the space?
And yes there in a tiny tank, really good selection of fish though.
Haven't been to Chiltern Aquatics where abouts in Luton?
