New GSP and store salinity question

Post by connorspuffer »

Hey
Just got a GSP for my tank. At the mo, im adjusting the salinity by 1.002 each week, aiming for aroun 1.008 (until my puffer gets bigger). At the store, it was in .005. Will it be okay for him to go from .005 to .002?

Did you acclimate him slowly to the new salinity slowly, if so should be fine, keep an eye on water parameters just to make sure the salinity change hasnt affected any bacteria, think you should be ok though.

all good then, plenty of time to get used to the new salinity, small shift like that shouldnt affect him at all, when you think at a water change you up it by .002 quite quickly, its not much difference to that. Good luck with him.

You could have cycled his tank at 1.005. How did you cycle it?
