F8 Plants

Post by hobbes »

Hello everyone! It's been awhile but my Figure 8's tank seems kind of..lacking. I know it's a bad thing he doesn't have the environment he wants to cruise around and have fun in, but I'm stuck at whether or not to invest in fake or live plants. I realise that I'm limited with brackish plants and my tank is a 29 gallon, and quite tall IMO. My puffer tends to stay around the top, so should I focus more in buying tall fake plants?

The only things I have in there right now is a fake clam thingy for a cave, a couple rocks leaning on a wall for a cave, and a giant piece of coral...thingy. >____> Anywho, yeah.. It's pretty boring. T___T I've failed my puffer by not giving him entertaining toystuffsz. Just curious what you Figure8owners/Brackishtankowners put in your tanks to keep your fish happy.

Honestly, in a 29 gallon tank I'd just go for fake plants. I have trouble sometimes growing live plants in freshwater 29 gallon tanks, something about the height of them can be a pain. Then again, I am growing plants in a 2' deep tank just fine.. go figure.

if the rocks are stacked high up, maybe you could put a plant on top of the rocks? i have a moss ball and i'm thinking of putting it on top of my rock cave thing.
