He loves eyeballs!!!

Post by sparks42 »

When feeding Chomper (gsp) he always goes after eyeballs first. He seems to LOVE eyeballs. Since I've heard so much bad stuff about krill, I now only feed him the eyes....and that's rarely. Mostly he eats snails and mealworms.

Anyways...he also picks at the eyeballs of my ornament fish haha

Anyone else's puffer have a love for eyeballs?

i went to a fish store one time, and there were a few dead gsps at the bottom of the tank. their eyeballs were eaten first by the other gsps. :(
i don't know about eyeballs, but my f8 got really excited one time when he saw me eating strawberries. i think he thinks they r giant bloodworms?? lol.

my fig 8 took down our mollie after months of happy co-habitation, and he only ate the eyes -- creepy --

thats interesting, the eyes could resemble snails, its noit that different to a ramshorn snail perhaps. It could also be that eyes are nice and succulant. I remember a survival story of guy left floating in the sea on a life ratf for about a month and at the start he would catch fish and birds but only eat the flesh and discard the rest After a week it was the eyes he ate first as they were full of fluid and tasted great. Maybe puffers know this too? :P

Paris is facinated with my boyfriend's eyes.. he thinks she's playing with him, ducking down to see under the brim of his hat, but I think she just really wants to eat those shiny, moving things...

Except for the puffers that don't look at the food before digging in (like Hufflepuff, Koseklumpen, Tiger and Klypekalle (the Abei) - the big ones, unless it's freeze dried krill, of course  ), mine do that too.

My SAPs both seem to like the compound eyes from the large North Atlantic prawns I feed them. They also like the swimmerets and the telson too. The rest of the animal, not so much, and it's the other fish that tend to eat the body and head (my Panaque especially loves the heads!).
