Robert and Mags are a bit coy about their ages, but they're about 3", from the 2" they were when I got them last June, so I think they're fully grown now, and very beautiful. Especially Mags.
How's your new guy doing? Have you done all your homework for him? What happened with your dwarves?

Hoover the Figure 8 is about 2.5" SL. I got not too long ago - I think it was June. I'm pretty sure he's full grown, and I've not seen any signs of him getting bigger (except after a meal).
Well, I got my figure 8 about 4 weeks ago (give or take a bit) and he was just under an inch. Seems weird, but with me feeding him 2wice a day with either live mosquito larvae, live blood worms, stocking the tank full of snails, and now introducing crays for food he must be about 1 and 3/4 of an inch now! Weird to say something so young grew so fast in such a small amount of time.
In theory, they should be able to reach sexual maturity in 14-24 months or less, and be on the order of 2/3 or more of maximum size in the same period. And that is in the wild.
In captivity both should be able to shift downward a bit on the time scale. Assuming freedom from disease, good nutrition, high water quality, correct water nature, and freedom from stress. Big assumptions, but not difficult ones for these fish.
I got our Figure 8 Jaws 2 months ago, and he's grown about 1/2 and inch, he's about 2 inches now. He used to love to swim back and forth and zip through the spaces between the glass and the heater and intake of the filter. Now he can only do it throught the filter intake. Poor guy is getting to big! He's such a sweetie!!!
my 3 f8s are 3" and are about 3 years old they were small when i got them there was a 4th that was very small and sickly but he died shortly after we got him home the woman and i thought we could save it but i knew nothing of BW tank setups at the time. im surprised the other 3 didnt die from my lack of knowledge. it was a few days before i discovered the site and started to figure stuff out
I cordially dislike allegory in all its manifestations, and always have done since I grew old and wary enough to detect its presence.

My Ceylon is about 5 years old and 8"
My Fahaka is about a year old and is also around 8"
My Ceylon is "fatter" or "rounder" than my Fahaka, but the Fahaka is surpassing him (it) in length. I'm sure he'll get thicker than him also!
