Feeding my Fahaka

Post by jayman »

I just got my first Fahaka the other day, and when I bought him the guy at the pet store gave me 3 goldfish because he said thats what he had been feeding the puffer. I have read that worms are a good way to start feeding him, also crayfish and snails, etc. But to get him eating what should i do? He is showing interest in the goldfish, he chases after them and gets really close to catching them; it just seems as if the cannot seal the deal. Any suggestions would be great, thanks.

Goldfish are a bad diet for puffers, check out the feeding article in the library. I'd try some Mussel first.

Fahakas are not piscavores, I would recommend against feeding it live fish, and if you insist, livebearers are better than goldfish. Goldfish are very bad for any fish's health.
