Re: Crayfish for food?

The wild ones would make me nervous. Actually all of them unless they separate wild and captive bred w separate sump, etc. I would freeze personally.

Re: Experienced Fahaka Keeper plse...

I agree. I moved Alice from 75 to 120 gallon and she is still sulking. Eating now but ‘sulk eating’ lol. On a good note, she is still eating northfin carnivore and kelp discs.

Re: Fahaka feeding requirements

Thanks. I read about thiamine. My latest post was asking about pellets bigger than 10 mm. Are there any?

Re: Fahaka feeding requirements

Quick question. Alice is doing well growing at about 6 inches or slightly smaller. She continues to eat pellets/disc as her main diet. She also gets snails and crays occasionally. I have a mystery snail breeding tank set up. Anyways, is there any pellets/disc bigger than 10 mm? She is eating northfi...

Re: Fahaka feeding requirements

I’m away for about 10 days. We have someone to visit the cat and can feed Alice (puff) every other day. I don’t feed too much when I’m away and the swordtails are there If she gets desperately hungry.

Re: Fahaka feeding requirements

Thanks. I plan on still giving seafood but when I’m away, it will be easier to feed pellets. She didn’t like pelleted food until the swordtail started eating them and I think it triggered a feeding response. She used to try but spit out. Now she just eats anything that goes in the tank. She loves cr...

Fahaka feeding requirements

I have a very young fahaka puffer, about two months old and 2 inches long. He or she came to me when he or she was about half an inch. He’s been eating a mix of seafood but currently start eating pellets. Is there any detriment to feeding him or her mainly pellets. I know that teeth need to be groun...

Got the puff. No red I the eyespot and not much activity. More nocturnal. Reminds me more of my ol' turgidus.

Re: Worming My Congo Puffer

oh okay. Another stupid question...on the link I posted ( http://www.fws.gov/fisheries/aadap/PDF/ ... 7feb07.pdf) they said they use prazi to treat tapeworm...how does that work as they use it as a bath.

Thanks.

Re: Worming My Congo Puffer

I also thought treated "baths" work as well. I treated my apisto with levamisole but I treated the tank and not food. This link also say prazi may work as a bath: http://www.fws.gov/fisheries/aadap/PDF/WAS07%20Drug%20Session/1630%20hr%20A%20Mitchell%2027feb07.pdf I am not sure how accurate...
