I've had 2 SAPs (sexes unknown) with 3 male DPs (got em when they were too small to sex) in a 29G for about two months now. No problems, but they are well fed and have plenty of plants a hiding places.

I have a 29 gallon with 2 SAPs, 3 DPs, 4 Otos, 1 Tiger barb, 1 Phantom Tetra, and 1 Rasobarb. I didn't think the Tiger barb, Phantom tetra, and Rasobarb would survive much past the cycling but there still kickin' several months later and have become good tankmates. I keep several ghost shrimp in the...

Successful Parasite Treatment1?!? (I think)

Well first of all, can you ever really be sure of a parasite infection w/o a post mortem, actually seeing them, or putting a smear on a microscope slide? Probably not....but the symptoms were there. I had a SAP that had some serious signs. He was swimming at the surface only, gills were moving quick...

Trace Elements

Does anyone add trace elements to their freshwater puffer tanks? If so, what do you use? I've been thinking about using the Kent Trace product.

I have been told that aquarium salt can help reduce fish stress and improve overall health in freshwater aquariums. I also understand that it can be used to treat ick in higher doses. I was hoping to find some specific gravity recommendations in order to monitor the salt content via hydrometer. I cu...

SA Puffer with DPs

I have heard that SA Puffers can be kept with DPs. Has anyone had any success doing this?

I currently have 3 DPs in a 29g that is well planted with lots of rocks and caves and would love to add a SA Puffer.
