opinions/comments please...
have not seen 'worms' or 'coils' any more on my F8 - it's been about 3 weeks now. He's happy as ever and eating and begging as usual. I didn't do anything medically, just kept changing water religiously and feeding him live/frozen food as before.
are they gone for good?

thanks again for all your replies...is there any chance that the nematodes will die?? I'm still worried about contamination of the tank (and reinfection to future fish) if my puffer dies...is this possible or ridiculous? What about equipment and decor - do I need to throw these out and buy new ones?...

ok thanks...but does anyone know how the nematodes got there and how to prevent it from happening again (or to future puffer). Is this common to puffers (or F8s)? So basically, I just have to wait and hope for the best??? I think it might be heavily infested since I also notice that his belly has lu...

thanks for replying...yes, Pami, tonight I noticed the 'coil' has moved to under his belly. It's still the same size and shape. Will they multiply and take over his body and kill him eventually??? (I can't believe I feel all choked up about this!) What do you mean wait until he gets sick and then tr...

parasite on F8?
I've had my fully grown (I think...2.5") F8 for about 3 months now and had no health problems with him until now (appears to be happy guy). I do weekly 30% water changes and treat the water every time. I haven't tested the water since so I don't have any water parameters to give (I expect a sco...

I just finished reading it...thank you so much for that article!! It's made my understanding and appreciation for the puffer go up a million times...unfortunately, now I'm really committed and will give up my kids if I have to to keep my puffer healthy and happy. (I thought only my Jack Russell Terr...

THANKS AGAIN bred!! but not finished...sorry, hope you don't mind... ...what light do you recommend? I've seen the ones like one tube across the tank - not a complete cover - then the old-fashioned ones (like my current which is warped from the heat of the bulb and the light isn't flattering to my ...

Actually, when do I have to do that? my puffer is 1 1/2 inches now...(he's a very happy guy considering I've been adding water e...
