Is this an Abei puffer?
I just bought a puffer that my LFS happened to be carrying. What they had written on the tank was "red eye 'tribal' puffer", but as you can see from the video, it seems a little too large for that. I had first seen it a week before I bought it and the employee I first spoke to agreed that ...

Re: My Dwarf Puffer is a Glutton
Thanks. And yeah, mine sometimes notices even when I have my eyes strained to the side. I had three at one time and one of them was REALLY cute when she mooshed her face against the glass. She'd come zooming up to me, but always forget the glass was there, so she'd hit it, bump off, glare at it for ...

Re: Question for Auriglobus Fans
Did a Google image search for filefish and couldn't see the resemblance, but I did find out that searching "a nefastus" gets you images of a black metal band.

Re: New here & question on dwarf puffer prey-snail size
The size of the snails doesn't seem to matter. Well, other than the fact that they can gorge themselves on something like an apple snail. They don't crunch the shells, they sneak up on the snail and slurp it out - or pick at it. I made the mistake of trying to keep a fully grown nerite with some dwa...

Re: Question for Auriglobus Fans
You know, maybe I just need to put their looks into perspective. Yours is a much better one, I have to admit. As far as keeping some together from juvenile stage, are you referring to modestus only? Am I incorrect in my impression that they're the "nicest" of the three species? If it's pos...

Question for Auriglobus Fans
For those who keep A. modestus, A. silus or A. nefastus, what is it you like about them? My favorite lfs always has one of them (I don't know which) in stock, but I generally pass them up because... well, they just don't strike me visually. Okay, they're ugly to me. That's more direct. I guess my pr...

My Dwarf Puffer is a Glutton
Moe, my dwarf puffer, recently became single (much to my sadness). He currently lives alone with two otocinclus. At first, I thought I hadn't cut back on his food enough. He always looked like I'd just fed him. Eventually, I stopped feeding him for a few days. He remained fat. He leaves the otos alo...

Re: ONLY Dwarf Indians in f/w?
Oh, I know what you mean. Other than an outbreak of neon tetra disease in one tank because of something REALLY stupid, I've been very lucky with keeping fish even from the beginning.

I love people who love shrimp. Considering I'm a shrimp, that's not surprising, is it?

Aw. That really sucks.
I want to get one eventually. Don't transfer your luck to me.
