Dwarf Puffer not swallowing
I've had my dwarf puffers now for quite a few months. They have always been really good with eating frozen blood worms. In the last few days I have noticed one of the 4(the runt) is not really swallowing his food. He still seems to have the same appetite as always but he takes a worm in his mouth an...

Re: Tankmates for DP-Shrimp+Fish
I am planning to get one more kuhli loach as I've read 3 are good. The two seem extremely happy though. I am having trouble finding another one. I bought the only two they had and nobody else has them. Don't loaches need larger schools than that? In a 5g, I'd leave it at one or two small shrimp.

Re: Tankmates for DP-Shrimp+Fish
I have 4 dwarf puffers, 2 kuhli loaches, 3 ottos, 2 cherry shrimp, and 2 ghost shrimp all together. No problems at all. Tank is much cleaner since adding the ottos too. My puffers are all girls though so I think that helps.

Re: Dwarf Puffer v. Ghost shrimp
I put 4 ghost shrimp in my tank with 4 dp's. The large shrimp really seemed to bother the dp's so I took them out and left 2 small ones. One small one disappeared right away, but the other has been living with them for weeks now. Added 2 cherry shrimp also which a are doing fine.

spider?
I'm looking in my puffer tank now and it appears a tiny black spider is crawling around on one of the plants. Too small to count legs accurately, but it is black and has 2 main parts like a spider. Are there little water spiders or is it just a dumb house spider that wondered in living on the last o...

Re: Dwarf Puffers
Oh this was kinda fun. I put 2 little ghost shrimp in with them the other day. Seemed like they were going to live happily together, but just now I heard a pop from the tank and they all had it in the corner looking at it. Not sure what I missed. They eventually let it go but I suspect they won't be...

Dwarf Puffers
I have 4 dwarf puffers in a 16 gallon tank. They are all about 3/4" long and all seem to be ladies as no signs of being male. Is it good to have all girls or should I try to get a male? Everything say 1 male for every 2-3 girls, but I think that is to keep the guys happy. Also is 4 in a 16 gall...
