mono mono mono

So at my trusty LFS i recently aquired a Mono Argentus under the assumption that i could keep it. I told them i have a 30ish fresh tank with a puffer... They said it would be a great addition, good with puffers and an easy keeper. :x When in reality they require brackish and eventually full marine. ...

Mussels

I recently picked up some frozen smallish mussels from meijer. They are organic and whole. I planned on giving one in a half shell to my F8 every few days as a special meal. I also have 2 'pea puffers'. If i gave the mussel to my F8 and let him eat his fill, then give the leftovers to my peas, would...

And my dad cut the ends off of this really cool old liquor bottle(using a tile saw and being very safe ofcourse). He just found an antique blue wine bottle that im going to add. some things around the house are...

Re: Snails getting pulled out of shells...

this probably has nothing to do with what you are talking about... and sorry for that, but my F8 likes to just suck the snail out of the shell. he refuses to bite them only take the snail out.

Re: Feeding questions for pea puffers

I buy fresh caught or raw. I get like one or two pieces of crab, shrimp, or one whole oyster. My F8 loves raw oysters, only at room temp tho Im sure pre-cooked is okay, but make sure to look at ingredients. If its anything you cant pronounce... dont give it to the puffers : ] But honestly just cooki...

Re: Bloated?

my F8 does this at every meal. He seems very normal otherwise and he has always done this for as long as I've had him. He gets a normal round belly, then as he eats it bulges to one side. Ill probibly try some epson salts in case also. glad you asked : ]

Re: Figure 8 Puffer tank

I have a F8, and i would recommend atleast a 30g though 20 with the right decorations could work out great. i have a 30g for mine and he is very comfortable. I would also suggest some sort of gravel vac. while the puffer or its tank mates will clean up some of the leftover food, they do make a big m...

Re: are clams ok for a tank with puffers?

i know that a lot of people feed their larger puffers small clams as treats. I give my small puffer some raw clam meat sometimes, so my bet is they'd eat it. could be worth a try though. if it works cool. if not, then your puffer got a snack :D
