help wanted
I have just been offered a small 1 inch GSP, they have been keeping him in a tank with a .050 salininty. Currently mine is at only .008. will this effect the puffer?

pardon if this sounds stupid but does it make a diff to the bac levels if you have more fish in the tank, as in not enough to go around?

also whats the best way to clean the filter, last time i did it i just droped it into the water i removed when cleaning and rinsed it through with the old water

thats what i thought so since he died thisafternoon i have completed 2 x 50% water changes and hover out etc, before i started adding salt all my levels were correct, I am going to do a 50% change every day for the next week to be safe before housing another

I have not been using any other chemicals in the water other than the aqua safe treatment for the tap water at 5ml for every 10 lts. Pet shop said the fish i had would be ok up to .030 brackish which i was taking it to over time, all other tests came ok with amonia 0, nitrite approx 20 and PH approx 7

My F8 has just died, I'm sad. Hey all, I have set up a small 4 gallon tank to breed snails in for rocket (F8), things like rams horns. I have brought a cheap little set up which is ok for the job, the problem is the motor for the sponge filter is loud, will it cause any problems to the tank if it is on from 9pm till 8am then off...

HI AN2N, Not sure how you are going so far but you cant go wrong doing a 50% change each day for a week and pop down your local aquatic shop and ask if you can have some cycled filter out of their tank and pop it in with yours, try to drop the use of shelf bactiria as it wont help the situation. Hi everyone,,,,,,
I have set up a snail tank to keep my little f8 puffer with fresh treats, The trouble im having is that non of the local pet shops have any snails I have orderd 10 rams off ebay. Does anyone know where i can get others from?

question, went to get the salt today and guy in shop said i wanted red sea salt? he also said i can use sea salt from the supermarket as long as it is 100% sea salt

ok the above seems easy to work out, the huge prob is i dont own anything which is 50% of my tank to do this, would it make any issue if u used the same but with a bucket which is 25% of the tanks volume? ok it will take longer but saves spending more money,

well thats the thing, i put approx 5-6 snails (approx 5mm) into the tank the other day and left them in there over night. when i got up the shells were in the same place as they were when i went to be and stayed that way for the next day without any movement. they were from the local pet shop
