Re: What happened to you today :)
I had a great day. First it was my birthday so I decided to treat myself to a spa day. I had an advanced facial with mircoderm abrasion, an hour massage and a pedicure. To top that off, just before leaving I got a call with a job offer. I was shocked as I thought I totally bombed on the interview. :...

Re: Is Puffydyle sick??
I wouldn't use any chemicals to lower the pH. Those chemicals don't work and are a waste of money. The change in pH is only temporary and the fluctuations is not good for your fish. Your fish will climatize to that pH. Mine is over 8.5 and my fish are fine. I think there's something that does lower ...

Re: "food tank"
Pond or ramshorns snails are the best. Don't get trumpet snails as they can cause damage to the puffers mouth because their shell is too hard. This is from what I've been reading.

Re: help!!
Sorry for your losses, baby puffers must be so cute.
You can wrap a heavy blanket around the tank, that can help perhaps.
How large is the tank? Can it be moved next to a heater?

Wow Nick, that's quite the filtration you have there. AC's are awesome.

No kidding in the poop. I see more in the snail tank than in my cichlid tank. It's crazy.

Re: Help needed with snail breeder tank
Hi RTR,
I have a filter in it as well as a heater. The filter has a lot of bubbles coming out so there's oxygenation and circulation. At least I hope so.

Hi and welcome to the forum, you'll learn tons here, I have. :D How large is your tank? What kind of plants do you have in there? Most plants don't survive brackish conditions, I use fake. You said you're using aquarium salt, you need marine salt as aquarium salt is used for healing and helping with...

Re: Help needed with snail breeder tank
Thanks ppg. As I was cleaning the tank I noticed a tiny clear ball. I tried to leave it in the tank thinking it was an egg sac but I got too curious and not knowing exactly what it was, I squeezed it between my fingers. I'll know better from this point forward....don't squeeze the balls. :durr: My c...

Re: Help with other tanks?
That's a very nice story Nick. They are my favorite fish, hands down. The female is the boss of the tank which I found odd considering what I have in there. After finding out she's a cichlid, I bought a larger tank and all the fish I got after her HAD to be compatible with her due to the way their m...

Re: Transition from bw to sw?
I don't know anything about saltwater tanks, I just wanted to point out that because I'm on a well also, I still use a conditioner as I don't want to take any chances. I use Prime so that's why I mentioned that product.

Re: Help with other tanks?
They are great fish, so much personality. Because of them being hybrids, they don't have the millions of years of instincts so they do pretty odd things, like swimming upside down. I have a pic of one sleeping on her head. http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/ug.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_i...
