What does dead rock constitute as?

I just bought some Fiji Live Rock.. for 3.49/lb .. but the piece I got cost me about 50 bucks!!

I saw some rock called "ancient coral" .. is that dead rock? Or would it simply be called dead rock @ the LFS?

But how many lbs. of LR should be put in a 24 gallon?

Oh and would it be possible to house ONE other fish, something like a clown or something? Or a triggerfish?

Hey all.. so as some may know my two F8s developed ich. Using puffpuggirls method of water heating I successflly healed Cupid (my larger F8), however Octopoof (my smaller) didn't make it. :-( But thats because he was quite badly infected.. so it was only a matter of time. Cupid is THRIVING right now...

So I've fallen in love with the idea of a reef aquarium, just on a small scale.

Found a great deal on a nano cube, however I wanted to know if there were any puffers that would work with a 12gallon nano cube by jbj with a small reef?

All advice is appreciated!

I have a white veranda (I think that what its called) .. which isn't fairing well at all in my brackish tank. The veranda has some kind of cotton like substance growing all over it, is that something I should be concerned about?

I also have an Amazon Sword, which also isn't fairing well at all.

Spots are only on the smaller puffer. And the spots are on the fins, and body. And seems to be quite a good amount of dots. The SG of the tank is 1.008.
