Feeding a GSP Squid
Hey everyone, I noticed in the feeding section that frozen squid was not listed, I saw some in the grocery store the other day and decided to give some to my gsp, just cut off a chunk and thawed it in some tank water. He LOVES it, I've had him on mussels (which he picks at slowly) and bloodworms (wh...

Bringing up Salinity
Well today i finally stopped being irresponsible and went and bought a hydrometer for my gsp's tank. I was surprised to see the salinity of the water is barely 1.008. My puffer is almost two years old so i think i'm going to aim to move up to 1.014. Does this sound right? and if so how much can i ra...

Pictures of Larger GSP's
Hey Everyone, I'm interested in the growth rate of my GSP, I've had mine a year and a half now so he's probably a little over 2 years old, he is around 2 inches now and doing great I just wanted to check if this is a growth rate that others have experienced, I also wanted to get some pictures of big...

Re: Freeze Dried Krill vs. Bloodworms
Ok thanks, I've read that article and I would still like suggestions as to what to feed him, especially foods that will sink to the bottom as this is where he eats, I was going to try a small mussel and some snails and i also wanted to try a live earthworm as there's a forest behind my house that do...

Freeze Dried Krill vs. Bloodworms
I've had my GSP for about 7 months now and he is getting pretty big (over 2 inches). I fed him on frozen krill (the big ones) until about 3 weeks ago when i moved him tanks. He never really seemed to enjoy the krill and was never in a rush to eat it. I decided to switch to bloodworms after I moved t...

Re: Smaller tank better?
Thanks for all the advice, i cycled the tank by bringing 5 gallons of the water from the 30 gallon back home with me, i kept it at the right temperature, i also brought some gravel from the old tank and the filter media then just topped up the other 5 gallons with new water, also this 10 gallon is o...

Smaller tank better?
Hey all, I had to move back home from University last week for the summer and I brought my GSP with me, He's about 2.5 inches now (getting bigger!) and at school he has a 30 gal tank thats well decorated all to himself. I couldn't bring the tank home so I had to transfer him to a 10 gallon. Ever sin...

Re: GSP appears bloated
after reading that i think that my food preparation for my gsps may have been the culprit, I usually only let there krill thaw for 5 or 10 mins which will apparently keep air in it, i'll definitely soak it for longer now
