Re: HELP! whAT IF CAT/DOG HAS EATEN A PUFFER???

Hello all, good news on the one hand.. his eyes seem to be back where they should be at least, but there's some fluid in there, it's like he's wearing huge convex, cloudy goggles, but appears to be able to see at least a bit now. He is very very lethargic and black, all a bit of a funny shape, his (...

Re: HELP! whAT IF CAT/DOG HAS EATEN A PUFFER???

OK done all that you suggested. added melafix already because he's got a few scrapes from where he was jammed underneath the freezer. One eye looking a bit better, but the other is completely recessed into his skull (you can only see half of it) and is floating around in the socket.. He's not openin...

Re: HELP! whAT IF CAT/DOG HAS EATEN A PUFFER???

WOW. we dragged everything out from around the tank, including a big old chest freezer, but the dog (who was totally playing the part of a dying dog with the beginnings of respitory failure) kept staring at the freezer. managed to pick the freezer up and there's a STENCH of dead fish. Trevor's under...

HELP! whAT IF CAT/DOG HAS EATEN A PUFFER???

I have come home tonight to find that Trevor (our 8-9inch) ceylon puffer has disappeared. we have already accused the electricians that were in the house, but, thinking about it.. who would steal a fish? so our other option is that he's managed to jump out, dislodging the trays on top. We can't find...

Sickly SAP

Hi all, Just a note because last weekend bought 3 SAPs to go in 20gal. tank that has been cycled for.. ever. Just happened to find these fellas and, having never seen SAPs for sale here, and there being 6 in the tank, 3 of which were rolling around unresponsive on the floor of the tank, brought them...

Thanks so much everyone! *blush* Was very very cool seeing them.. we were visiting them to watch every day: my sister's house is right on that beach. They return every low tide to the pools, so if anyone ever visits Brisbane, come here and watch them! Unfortunately, leaving today for Sydney.. wll mi...

I agree! I would definitely say that it is the "common toadfish".. always a bit sad to see that they are referred to as "common"..! I'm from the UK, but on a world tour.. check out my other posts.. seen turtles hatching and laying, dogface puffers on the reef, beached sunfish.. a...

They are so cool... two tides a day and the water rises to about 2metres on the front, but on the low tide, the puffers are back again in the pools left over. They were picking the legs off the crab from the back.. crabs about 3/4 times their size were swimming away from them desperately! Most of th...

OK... sorry it's taken me so long.. the internet here is VERY frustrating! We realesed the puffers we caught back into their family group last night. Today when we went on the beach again there was a school of at least 200 of them, all shapes and sizes, working together to bring down a HUGE crab! It...

Wild puffers!

Hi all, We're in Brisbane in Australia& were just walking down the beach when we found a SCHOOL of puffers in the tidal pools! We've managed to catch two just to try and get a pic for ID.. keeping them in seawater with shells to hide, hermits in case they get peckish and in a big bowl (just so n...

Hey Rocker! Sorry we can´t help with any raising just yet because we´re in Chile, but if the panic´s still on in April 2007 (when we´re home) we´ll definitely help! Also would definitely like to take on a Suvatti from you when we´re back.
