After speaking to another aquarist in my town, it could have been something in the water. He had 3 cyprichromis leptosoma die with his last water change. No idea as to what the cause was, with no reports from the water company.

No more risk of contaminants such as soap/lotion than there has ever been with me. There has been no sprays (paint or hair or anything). I wash my hands for good hiegene, but I rinse my hands also...and this has never caused a problem before. Would this affect only puffers though? What I am dealing ...

What about bioload? I was under the impression most people felt the 2.5 was borderline for keeping a single dwarf puffer in.
