Re: crayfish in sydney
Ive never seen a pet store sell crayfish feeders. Try calling sea food places. That is the only place I can find them in the U.S. If they are in local waters you can google how to catch them and get them yourself.

Re: Tank lid / hood repair?
It can be hard to find, and can be expensive. But it is possible to find stainless steel wire. depending how mechanically inclined you are you could get stainless steel bolts and hinges. another option that would not be as good but still work would be to drill holes in the hood and lid and use black...

Re: Nitrates
Yes there are anaerobic bacteria that do. The only options to efficiently culture it is through a deep sand bed or a denitrator. Seep sand beds will only work in salt water and are very experimental with freshwater with most tests killing off the entire tank. Denitrators are also finicky and many pe...

Re: They're trying to Dam the Mekong River!
Its always one trade off for another. I live in the western US and within 50 miles of two large dams. These two dams provide Electricity to 100's of thosands of homes and business and saves 100's of tons of coal from being burned every year. Without these dams we would have no water since we live in...

Re: hard vs soft water......
Or you may live in a state like mine where it is illegal to collect rain water. Colorado just changed their law to allow it but in Utah it is still against the law. However Its not like we get enough rain to make it worth it.

Fahaka Jumping?
I was wondering how many inches I would need at the top to guarantee that my Fahaka will not jump out of his tank. Is 3 inches enough or would I need 6, or even more?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Tank Size
Ok, ill treat the ich for 30 full days and do my best to change the water every day. I only ever change the water with a python and always vacuum the gravel at the same time. I dont think there is a point in doing one without the other. Ill do my best to do it daily, that was my original goal but so...

Its been almost a week with his water temp aroung 84-85 degs and I have a tablespoon of salt per 5 gallons in his tank. He is looking a lot better. I figure anothe...

Tank Size
I have been lurking on this forum for about two months and I purchased a fahaka about 1 month ago. My primary questing is he is currently 4" and in a 30 gallon aquarium. I am able to do some trade work for a 130 gallon tank. Will these tank dimensions work? They are 72"x18"x24" I...
