Same here... they really are a great species. I may just be anthropomorphosising, but she certainly seems to look rather proud in that picture.

Brilliant news! Your baileyi must be very settled in the tank to be spawning. My memory is bad... is it methylene blue that can help prevent fungus on eggs?

Also, did your puffer actually puff with air? If he puffed while in the water then that's perfectly natural and OK and you shouldn't really interfere with him. The lump sounds a little odd though... could you get a pictrure to demonstrate what you mean?

Yeah it probably would be here too in a lfs, but online it's £10 for four praecox and £10 for three cherry shrimp, with £10 for carriage on top of that. So it'll be £30 or so altogether when I order, though I may just get another shrimp to make it four in case one dies or something.

Absolutely! I think I'll go for some cherry shrimp. They are expensive, but apparently quite hardy and will eat almost all sorts of algae. Hehe... which is always a bonus. Plus I've *finally* made a *proper* decision about what to put in the tank! I'm going to get four praecox rainbows and some cher...

I want something to clean my Riccia of algae though lol. Plus I'd like something red. Filter feeders would be different, but not as active I would imagine.

Maybe the 'saddled' puffer is Tetraodon fluviatilis as they can sometimes have quite large patches on their backs? Although there's nothing very 'red' about them

Indeed... hence 'so-called'. There are some smaller species of ray, but none of them are teacup sized by any means. Hijacking was warranted there I think!

Gawd... my tank's way too itty bitty for a ray! Even a so-called 'teacup' ray. It's only 24x8x8, so about 6.6 US gallons. I have good over-filtration (53gph so it's filtered 8 times per hour) and I'm on top of my water changes so I can be *slightly* lenient with stocking densities, but only slightly...
