Re: I've Got A Rather Large Problem... Advice?

I suggest you hunt hunt hunt until you find some and then start breeding them. I'm sure an aquariust in the area somewhere already has a colony living in one of their tanks. What Island are you on if I may ask?

Re: Gravel Depth
partially depends on the size of your tank and what youyr keeping. When I kept large sa/ca cichlids I had anout 2-3 inches in the bottom. for puffers, I'm not sure. for right now Istill have the same gravel but will be looking to go w/ sand sooner or later.

Re: puffer care whilst on Holiday
Ahhhh, I've been here before. Pre prepare all of her food in advance (try market shrimp and just cut it up into portion sizes and put it in a freezer container.) Tell her how much to feed and when. Do a large water change before you go and you should be good. It's what I had to do for my wife when I...

Re: Brackish Pleco?
I live in houston, Tx and I've read where people have pulled large plecs out of the tidal marshs in near Galveston Bay. I have no clue how long they were there, but if they had been living there for some time then it shows that they are at least some what capeable of adapting to various degrees of s...

I've been told (keep in mind I said told, not actually tried) that common plecs can survive in mildly brackish waters.

Re: Compatibility.
I keep a bunch of convict cichlid fry in the tank with my fahaka. yeah, she chomps one in half every now and then, but they were given to me for free for that purpose. Nick sounds right, most owners prob just accept that they will lose some tank mates.
