So my marine FOWLR tank is finally set-up and running smoothly. It's fully cycled and I added a pair of ocellaris clowns on Monday. So far they're doing really well. What I would eventually like to have in the tank are the clowns, and Valentini toby and a small group of PJ cardinals (either 3 or 5)....

I'm hoping it turns out well! I'll be sure to post some pictures when it's said and done

Hhhmm, I don't think my filter has Zeolite in it but maybe it's hidden in there somewhere! I use a Filstar XP2 canister with just the polishing pads and the bio-chem stars for the bacteria to grow. My ammonia was being processed just fine into Nitrite, it's that just Nitrite just climbed and climbed...

So after attempting to cycle my 47gal tank for brackish at SG of 1.005 to no avail after 8 weeks I think I'm about to start over! :? I was originally planning on using the tank for one GSP after going back and forth over that or marine. The cycle is agonizing though, since I've had 0 ammonia reading...

I just have been using Prime because of the good reviews and reputation it has. I also only need the ammonia during the cycling process, after cycling I won't want the 1.0ppm of ammonia added to my tank. The way I understand it the Prime binds the ammonia so it is no longer "free-ammonia" ...

My test kits are all brand new, I'm using both API kits and Seachem kits to double check all the readings and getting wonky readings with both!

I'm still debating but I think I may just start over and switch to saltwater and give bio-spira or Dr Tim's a shot!

I have no problem upping the SG time if I were to get a GSP, I just used an SG of 1.005 to cycle and start somewhere.
