Re: Vit-C dosing ok during Hypo treatment?
Well this sucks the red stripe angelfish has passed away lying on the bottom of tank. No marks, bites anything. Just checked the water parameters : Ph 8.2 Amm 0 Nitrites 0 Nitrates 10 Salinity at 1.014 done in 24hours from 1.020. All the rest of fish are fine but so was the red stripe night before e...

Re: Vit-C dosing ok during Hypo treatment?
Thanks for your reply. Ive been trying to find out if baking soda is needed during hypo, do you know what is the lowest ph fish can handle or maybe better question would be what ph would be ideal for them during hypo treatment?Pufferpunk wrote:Only is there is a skimmer on there.

Vit-C dosing ok during Hypo treatment?
Hi folks,
Im in process of doing hypo treatment for my newly aqquired marine fish. Everything was going well until I bought the porc puffer, he was fine when he arrived but after 4/5 days of barely eating the ick appeared.
Would it be safe to still dose vit-c in the QT?
Thanks!

Newbiepuff -- any updates on your Fahaka? Turns out she wasnt constipated or the door being in view ... she has finally eaten 3 little, 2 inch blue yabby crayfish. Whats weird is she wont eat anything else but doesnt matter too much as we breed blue yabbies in our 35g and have plenty of them plus g...

Re: 10+ week Fahaka hunger strike ...
If she's constipated enough not to eat at all, then she's going to be horribly bloated. Is she? Wierd thing is she doesnt look bloated and looks really healthy. Kinda looks like this one but belly isnt as big : http://www.siamfishing.com/board/upload2007/200709/119055443832320.jpg Still going to tr...

Re: 10+ week Fahaka hunger strike ...
Several of my puffers will go on hunger strike if I move them to a different tank. The fact that you've said she's not thin and is still looking good is a good thing. My first idea was that maybe she's got internal parasites, but it doesn't sound like it after I've read what you've wrote. I mean, s...

Re: Figure 8 poor colouring and lethargic
Great advice, will drain all the water, scrub the rocks+plants, soak em, give the filter media a
good wash and let the tank recycle before buying gsps.
Will let you folks know how we get on, hopefully better this time.

Re: Figure 8 poor colouring and lethargic
Makes me wonder how or what are they using to catch
these puffers .... since all the other fish we have kept for 10plus years had hardly any deaths compared to the puffs .. wonder if random puffer deaths are common, anyone ??
