He didn't make it.

He's still on his side. I think I saw his side move like he was breathing, but I'm just not sure.

My husband is admitting that it's still really difficult to tell if the fish movement he's seeing is just from water movement of the fish's body, or if the fish is actually moving....

We now have 3 heaters in the tank. Temp just hit 70. His dorsal fin is moving. Husband is staying with him & talking to him, which is visibly helping.

Ours has been ~5" for a year or more, and we've had him for probably 4 years. We're not sure if he's done growing yet, or if he's just growing very slowly now.

Isn't it a wonderful feeling to finally get them to full salt?!? As in, YAY, I can now add live rock, and a skimmer will work better, and I can get some chaetomorpha for a refugium, and....

I'm surprised you're saying a 30g tank is sufficient when you're including live rock in that tank. If you're going with the typical 1-2 pounds of rock per gallon of water, your water volume is substantially less than 30g. FYI to jus85411, the other way you can keep nitrates way down in a FOWLR tank ...

I've been using a regular Marineland powerhead for mixing water -- and they have an outflow tube that perfectly fits in dishwasher train tube (which is 1/2" internal diameter). You can get that tubing from Lowes or Home Depot, and it's a heckuva lot cheaper than the tubing from the LFS. See if ...

Mine did. FD worms, plankton, & krill. They even ate pellets that had a high percentage of shrimp or krill. A couple would even eat the green OSI flakes I got for the mollies (those flakes also had a high shrimp percentage -- knight gobies ate them, too).

There *are* play sands that are made from the aragonite sand... look for Southdown.
But I suspect that, since Southdown comes from the southeast US, that it'll be hard to find in Vermont. You're more likely to find a silica sand or quartz sand.

Definitely agree with steering *most* beginners away from mollies...unless they live in a place with seriously hard water or are starting out with brackish (which is what I did).
