Finicky Palembang is driving me nuts!
Hello everyone, My Palembang will only eat frozen bloodworms (which I soak in vitamins) and live fish (some tetras I had in his tank to keep it cycled). I've offered garlic and vitamin soaked krill and shrimp and he's simply not interested. I'll probably get some frozen silversides and some shellfis...

Water changes. 25% every other day or 50% weekly?
Hello everyone, I do 25-30% water changes every other day on all my tanks. I use the tank water for my plants and trees. I do a 50% water change every 2 weeks. Is this a good idea? My nitrates are low, but I'm more concerned about stresses to the fish. Will the constant disturbances cause them to st...

Palembang tank question. Do they like current?
Got all my Cichlid rehomed and my Palembang puffer has the 55 gallon tank all to himself. One thing I haven't found an answer to is if they liked current. My Cichlid loved a strong current so I have two koralia power heads turning the water over. Should I remove one? Both?

55 gallon - Possible Congo Puffer tank. Have questions.
Hello everyone, I miss having a puffer so I'm going to convert my African cichlid tank to a single fish tank. I owned a T. Suvattii for years, and unfortunately lost him due to a tank crash (stupid power outage), and I miss having a fish like that. I'll be re-homing the cichlids, but the tank has be...

Re: Pics of My New Puffers
Wow... all in the same tank? How big is the tank? My suvattii would rip anything apart that goes in his tank.

Re: New DP tank - Few questions
I've decided against the tetras and just got another DP. They all appear to be very healthy are are eating well. The shot glasses have some designs onthem but are mostly just clear glass. Thinking about going to the store and just getting plain glass ones. They make perfect caves for DP's and I foun...

Re: ARGH!!! FILTERCIDE!
Myaj, I did have that filter cover and the puffer managed to get himself stuck in the slits.
I took one of my fluval filter sponges and created a pre-filter using that. I won't have the problem anymore I hope!

Re: New DP tank - Few questions
Ok, looks like I only lost one DP instead of two. So my 10 gallon now has 2 dp's and 2 amano shrimps. Question: Can I get any other tankmates? I thought about getting another DP but I think 2 for a 10g is enough. What about tetras? Do you guys think that I might put too much bioload in the tank if I...

ARGH!!! FILTERCIDE!
My filter "ate" two of my dwarf puffers tonight. I saw them IN the intake tube. Sigh... they were doing so well too.
Before I go out and buy anymore DP's, does anyone know what I can get to fit over an Aquaclear 20's intake so this doesn't happen again?
UGH. So annoyed by this...

Re: Bitten By My Suvattii
My Suvattii chomped on my pinky today. I was placing some new plants in his tank and totally lost track of him. I found him. Not till after he tried to take a big chunk out of my hand! Lol, my fault really. He hasn't been fed this week yet so he was starving. And I was being a bit too careless. Here...

Re: New DP tank - Few questions
I got some amanos yesterday. Pretty cool looking shrimp. Hoping to pick up the DP's today. Now I just gotta find names!
