Takifugu ocellatus i believe, i just received them along with 2 gsp, they have been kept in freshwater so far they are roughly 5 inches long. they look healthy enough. reccomend a slow increase in sg? 0.002 a week?? thanks

Mine was custom ordered, i payed the full price and left him in the shop for about 6 weeks while i kept an eye on tank parims. just to make sure the tank was good to go!

Yeah some good points there, all i tend to spend my money on is fish keeping anyway!
i know hes gunna need a bigger tanks when hes getting on. i am always looking for bigger tanks and it shouldnt be to much of an issue to get hold of one.

Was not intending to offend, i was just stating that i can provide a sufficient home for it, i can easily obtain a 7x3 but for the time being it isnt nessesary. Everytime someone mentions a mbu puffer on the forum they seem to get pummeled with questions and statements of need for the fish, i unders...

Good for you. he is in better hands with me than someone unwise to their potential size, a suitable sized tank is well within my budget and have good knowledge on how to keep the fish healthy and happy as possible.

I know the growth limitations of this fish and researched thoroughly before i bought it, i wouldnt have purchased the fish if i knew i couldn't provide a suitable aquarium for it in the long run.

Oh forgot to mention, filteration on the 100 gallon is a tetratec 700 and a 1200, and on the 250 is a trickle filter with bio media, etc

Yeah some good points there, especially about the terrororial times. he is at roughly 3-4 inch, he will be in either my 100 gallon or my 250 gallon, hoping to get some ziare to mix him with. i like to keep things biotope with my tanks, same distribution etc on the fish. would like to get some rays i...

Do you think a rio 400 would be sufficient for a lineatus? i have my 5 inch mbu moving to my 250 gall soon and i would love to have both species at once.

Sweet nice to hear about your fish, i wont be mixing the mbu in that case, i wont be buying any new world cichlids due to the ammonia etc levels in the tank, i was only asking about the mbuna due to me having a tank full and my electricity bill being through the roof. tankmates with small mbu
Hi all, soon i am putting my 4 inch mbu in a rio 400, i am wondering if i can keep small malawi cichlids with the mbu, i know they are buggers for nipping etc so i am wondering if the space will clear the aggression, any imputs would be great.
