He is by far the most boring fish I've ever had.....doesn't move...at all...never even seen him swim more than a few inches...or eat.....sigh.

Im going to have to agree w Jupp here. Fang's it is.

Maybe I'll put my Fahaka in with him to provide some inspiration!! heehee...kidding folks..just kidding.

I'll try your suggestion of using tongs....guess it was too much to expect him to actually get off his butt and get his own food.

To be honest, he's the most boring fish I've ever ever had but I respect him for what he is nevertheless. Not responding to when I toss frozen krill in there...the only time he moves is at night when im not there...understandably so I guess. I've only seen him actually swim twice in the past week......

I live in Toronto. Was walking through China town here into some garden store and they had puffers waaay at the back in a few aquariums.

If there is a red dot, it will be very obvious, and it will not change with color/mood changes. His colors...

No red dot on him.

I didn't even tell you the best part....so because I had a smaller feeder tank beside my large tank to hold feeders of course...well as they were viewing the place while I was at work I came home to two surprises. One was that they must have dump about 1/4 of the jar of goldfish food into my Fahaka ...

Believe it or not, I was selling my condo a few years back and someone actually put a condition that I leave my aquarium with "the big fish" in the offer documentation. I refused of course.

hand feed a fahaka....... idk if thats such a good idea, ive seen the teeth on those guys i would get my hand near those beaks no matter how nice they are lol It's no big deal really....always careful of course. He was so used to me handling him that it was no big deal. Trust I guess...but I would ...

The more i get into this puffer stuff, the more i think the FAHAKA would makes the ideal puffer pet. Except it gates a little too big. 6-9 inches would be soo much better thatn the possible 14 it gets to. :lol: Fahaka's just have sooo much personality. He was 13.5" and would let me hold him......
