Re: List of freshwater fishes to avoid for beginners

17) I'll add scarlet badis (dario dario). They are so small and so skittish that a beginner could quickly get bored with them. Besides, they can be hard to feed and may need target feeding with live foods. IMHO, any fish can be bad for a beginner and any fish can be good for a beginner. It just dep...

New Eheim filter and it won't work

Re: CALLING FAHAKA EXPERTS !

Well IMO I prefer a little of both substrate for my tank. I believe in my photos I have a pic of my fahaka tank. I have a Nice deep sand bed that slopes down to gravel. I also have a Slate rock cave/shelf that he can get into as well as a fake log tower. http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/ug.php?g2...

Re: South American puffers with pleco.

There is no way, no how a pleco can swim fast enought to catch a SAP. They are always moving so the pleco won't be able to catch them. Is this a standard pleco? If so a 30 gallon tank is way to small and is most likely to cramped for a 7" pleco right now. I would rehome now so that he can conti...

Re: Food Variety for Puffers

Live blackworms look like bloodworms and wiggle when you put them in. I had to use blackworms for my redline he wouldn't eat anything at all and now he will eat bloodworms because they look like blackworms i think. :)

Re: any 1 no where i can get a marble crayfish from?

i saw one baby today that was the size of a small ghost shrimp. I didn't see any others though. I wonder if one of my fish in the tank was eating the babies. I will have to find out which one it was and take him out. Those aren't for him!!!!

Re: Red Line/Red Band puffer

both of mine have the yellow head and they didn't actually show this color until they were happy and settled. All of my puffers change their colors, stripes and markings depending on mood and time of day. So I wouldn't get to upset over it. Also i keep mine at as near to freshwater as you can get; 1...

Re: What type of Puffer should I get?

Get a SAP or DP's they are the only semi community friendly puffers that I have found that would work in your size tank. SAP's are also very cool but don't expect your swordtails to have tails if you get either puffer.

Re: NEW GUINEA RED LINE TRIBAL PUFFER, T. ERYTHROTAENIA

Mine are doing fine I have them in a 25g for now and I put 1/3 cup of marine salt in for three 25% WC and have not added any for the last two water changes and they are doing just fine. Pure FW they did not do well in but adding just that small amount of salt made them happy and healthy.
