You're gonna have to be patient with her - give her time!
She's feeding, so it's just a case of you trying and trying until she feeds from dead food. Just be patient

Re: Stupid colleague
Thanks Agnate - I've already passed on the info about having several months to upgrade so that's all fine. I think I should've been a bit clearer about the harassing - we're all very close friends, in and out of work, and threatening to see to his gentleman's bits if he doesn't 'comply' is all taken...

Re: Im Shocked!
If you choose to report them, and your dad's willing to help, also ask if he'll take photos of the sign. With a digital camera, take a photo of the sign outside the shop (the one that names the place) and then immediately go in and take a photo of the sign about pond fish. That way the digital time ...

Re: 2nd try on porcupine puffer
I'd try pieces of squid, live and dead shrimp and mussels if I were you :) Some of the dead things you might have to try tempting her with (garlic, bouncing around on the end of a piece of string etc) Remember not to overfeed her, let her come round in her own time, and don't force food on her - you...

What else have you tried feeding her?
Have you tested your water parameters, just to be sure?

Re: Stupid (fahaka) idea
I'm still in the process of rearranging things here - I've gotta be in the States for a while for most of August, and I'm the only 'fish person' in the house - my OH is fine taking care of our current fish as they're healthy, but I'm not sure he'd necessarily spot problems with an ill fahaka, or he'...

If they've got that written up anywhere (i.e. not just what some moron said to you), I'd get onto the RSPCA. I know they've got a less than ideal rep for responding to these things, but I have heard of one LFS that got a right royal b****cking and had to change their husbandry practices sharpish. Th...

Re: 2nd try on porcupine puffer
You've only had her 3-4 days
I know porcs recover faster than most, but she may well still be a little stressed from the move. Give her time.....if she's still doing this in a couple of months, she's probably just lazy

Bare bottom
I seem to remember reading somewhere that porcs should be kept in tanks with no substrate - the colleague of mine with the new porc has live rock, obviously, but also a live sand substrate and I swear I read porcs shouldn't have bare-bottom tanks (I might've dreamt this). I've been trawling Google a...

Re: Tater's inept eating
Cheers PP - should've mentioned, the GS aren't in with him all the time, they have their own tank now I've discovered how to not kill them (who'd've thought good water would be fatal?!). He's only had three since I've had him and hasn't had anything else. I've been trying the garlic, and will contin...

Re: My puffer is not eating! What can I do?
I buy mine at supermarkets or from fishmongers. Bring them home (live or in pre-packaged net bags), sort through them and throw away any that are already open, and then put them in the freezer. Leave them for a few days to kill off the nasties and then take them out individually to feed. I thaw in v...
