Sexing/Breeding Fahakas

Does anyone know how to sex Fahaka's? I was also curious if anyone has successfully bred tehm in captivity if so how? All I have read states that they are all wild caught.

Re: tempting ideas second thoughts

I have heard it go either way.... If it were me i wouldn't do it, unless I planned on getting rid of or thinning out the community tank. Good luck keep us posted.

They do but nothing like live crayfish. What else would you suggest? I can get shrimp no problem but that wont keep his break down. I need some "crunchy" foods for him. Snails as you know dont really last or fill him up. Thanks again.

Jared, thanks for the reply. I get where you were going with the "riddle" but like I said there are no stores around me that sell them, bait shops, grocery or any other. Thanks anyway though.

Where can I get Crayfish and shell critters?

I was wondering where a good place is online to order crayfish or any other shelled critters for my fahaka. My lfs's in the area don't carry them and neither do the bait shops. I was just curious where you guys get your feeders. Thanks

Re: Fahaka Hand feeding

Yep. Mine loves to hand feed. Initially it was the only way he would eat like yours but now he is generally on his own. Cool isn't it? lol
