Re: Yellow tang in trouble!
Right after I wrote the post about going to get the medicine I went to check on Nori, and she had passed :-( I've had an incredibly busy week and wasn't sure where to go from here, but since there were no longer fish involved; I figured it wasn't a pressing issue. SO, NOW I have questions. I've atta...

Re: Yellow tang in trouble!
Thanks Yunachin! Unless anyone tells me otherwise, the plan of action is to pick up some API Furan-2 (which contains both of those ingredients) today, and medicate with that. May do a water change before if Nitrates look anything above 40ppm. Will continue feeding nori (should this be garlic soaked?...

Re: Yellow tang in trouble!
No erratic behavior. Pictures are nigh to impossible to get w/ my camera, but hopefully these will shed some light. Note: she does not live in a bowl. It was the only way I could seem to get pictures. Hope these are some help: 100_0889.JPG 100_0902.JPG 100_0916.JPG Hope this helps. Thanks everyone. ...

Yellow tang in trouble!
Hey, all! So I just got a Yellow Tang from the local pet store. (For those of you who don't remember, I live in the middle of nowhere. So my selection of livestock and medicine is quite small). The first tang I got from the store died within 48 hours (Still unexplained causes). They had my replaceme...

Re: Feeding GSP
Thanks guys. With the last post, would 3" be considered larger or smaller? Or does it depend on whether you're a half-full or half-empty type of person? LOL

Re: Rates of growth
Pufferpunk - Is there anything I could be doing wrong that's keeping Ryuu at his initial size? He might have grown a bit (certainly his tummy has!), but he's still right about three inches. And it's been nine months. There's nothing awry in the typical paramaters (other than an excess of phosphates ...

Feeding GSP
Hey all! I'm like a bad plague. You just can't get rid of me :-) But Ryuu loves you guys....;-) Anyway, up to this point I've been feeding him a variety of frozen marine cubes, from blood worms to brine shrimp and other varieties. Along w/ freshwater ramshorn snails (which I've been breeding) and co...

Re: Puffer Compatability
My SG is currently 1.022. It's normally 1.023, but I ran out of salt. (rolls eyes). So that was the best I could do.

Rates of growth
I just read in another post that A. Manilensis normally only grows up to 6" in captivity. Is this true? Also, I have had a lovely GSP in my tank for > 6 months. He has no health problems, and chubby as a clam (could he be grazing on my pineapple sponges?!). He's been about 3" ever since I ...

Puffer Compatability
Can puffers (specifically GSP - maybe add. sp. later) cohabitate peacefully with sea slugs?
What are some other good ideas for battling nuisance algae?
(I have a constant problem w/ this, as I cannot yet afford an RO/DI and have high levels of phosphates in my well water)
Thanks
Jess
