Re: Dwarf Puffer sexing
ok thanks, i didnt realise that, i read on the dwarfpuffer site that otto's made good tankmates with dwarf puffers but i guess its not fair to keep one on its own then. Do dwarfs mind a bit of water flow? I have an arcadia arc but the filter it comes with doesnt seem very manly so i have put a fluva...

Dwarf Puffer sexing
Im currently cycling a new 10 gallon, hopefully ready for a dwarf puffer adventure ! I would like 3 and an otto? Is that pushing it for a 10 gallon? Ive read that two males will fight and one male one female could go bad. Also it seems really hard to sex them in the shop as they are all quite young,...

Re: worry , weird, normal?
He has a little cave and a half coconut shell with moss on that he sits in sometimes but he definately prefers the plants, I dont think i have two much light, there are two 18 watts and i normally only have one on. Guess he justs sleeps in funny positions then!

worry , weird, normal?
So, my salivator's favourite place seems to be with his head wedged in a plant, downwards, sideways on, diagonally! Is this normal? It looks so wrong sometimes! He eats fine, his favourite is bloodworm, he also enjoys river shrimp and snails. He swims about alot when i come home and before feeding b...

Re: Salivator emergency, pleae help!
So she was dead when i got home today. Poor little thing. I did call the LFS and said to them I thought he should warn people about keeping them together because he'd told me they would get along fine. He said it was just down to individuals which i guess is true but it seems from all you guys and y...

Re: Salivator emergency, pleae help!
They dont look infected but they are bad. She just lies on the bottom not moving. I thought she was dead this morning but when i put a net in she started moving around. I wondered wether to put her out of her misery, but its 30 hours on and she's alive, it's just hard to envisage her getting better ...

Salivator emergency, pleae help!
So i was warned this would happen, I came home from work today to find my female salivator with most of her side fin missing and several chunks out of her side, she is still swimming but in a bad way. I have moved her into a small hospital tank i had been keeping some ramshorns snails in with the ho...

Re: Salivators? Zebra's Any Info!?
So it doesn't sound to promising, i'm going to give it a go because i'd love to keep a pair but i'm prepared to seperate if needs be. They've been together for 3 days now and they seem fine, absolutely no aggression as far as i can tell, but as you've all said they can be unpredictable. At one point ...

Re: Salivators? Zebra's Any Info!?
I'd love to know for sure! I can find pictures of females of both species which look identical! I guess somwhere along the line one species is being mis-identified? Or are they that closely related that the females are indistinguishable? There doesn't seem to be any definitive guide, this site is th...
