Re: Show Your Tatts!

The butterfly to me was symbolic of Stacy's moving on to a new life. Pretty self explanatory there. The other... is a Male Female Female Male symbols intertwined together. This is a dual symbol for me. First: My son, my two daughters and my other son... basically my birth children. My artist is work...

Re: Show Your Tatts!

My very first tat in memory of my husband. http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i161/jennifer_main/MySpace/Image021.jpg A year later I had it reinked when I got my second tattoo. http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i161/jennifer_main/MySpace/RSCN0169.jpg My second tat was way more physically painful than...

Re: New to GSP's and correcting misinformation.

Worm cone feeder: http://www.fish.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=710125 Like I said before, I suggest getting those 3 GSPs into the larger tank, ASAP. Anything is better than cycling that 10g with them in it. There are 2 kinds of Bio-Spira, FW & SW. FW B-S is made to be used in FW. Just like our biologica...

Re: New to GSP's and correcting misinformation.

Awesome info... thank you so much **mental note to skip the krill** I sure don't want either one to break a tooth so I'll stick with the pond type snails. I hope these are prolific breeders as my guys are tearing them up. I can't wait to get them in the bigger tank... it's going to be so great for t...

Re: New to GSP's and correcting misinformation.

Yeah thats how you feed them BW. You can't touch them otherwise you can get some form of hypothermia. Frozen krill is good but shouldn't be a staple, it may lead to lockjaw. Also many people are fine with giving there puffers MTS snails its just a precautionary thing. salinity measuring thing is ca...

Re: New to GSP's and correcting misinformation.

Well so far, I haven't seen a black belly on either of them. My crackhead daughter named them Ren and Stimpy... *sigh* :spank2: She's incorrigible.. I'll tell ya! I don't have a worm feeder... I've been thawing them in a little plastic bowl with tank water. Then drain the tank water once everything ...

Re: New to GSP's and correcting misinformation.

Wow Umb... great pics! My two look like #1, #4 and #5. But I haven't seen mine change their belly color to black. Hmmm.. I thought the black bellies meant they were starving? Maybe I misread something... I could be wrong since my brain is still swirling with new info. Good looking fishies :D Mine ha...

Re: New to GSP's and correcting misinformation.

You can cycle a tank (without fish in it) pretty quickly with pure ammonia, can you not? I believe it takes several days (up to a week), but I imagine if you're doing water changes each day, they should be okay in a 10g until the 55g is set up. Here's a link to a guide on my local city's forum abou...

Re: New to GSP's and correcting misinformation.

Okay the phone sucks at getting moving pics... but it'll have to do for now. Does this help, Umb? http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i161/jennifer_main/01-21-08_1036.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i161/jennifer_main/01-21-08_1031.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i161/jennifer_main/01-21-0...

Re: New to GSP's and correcting misinformation.

Is that the LFS you got closed down? I'd invest in a test kit and hydrometer if I was you, I think the fish store may have lied, especially about the sg. Marine salt is much much much cheaper, and it contains a whole lot of extra minerals that help thefish survive. Aquarium salt is only used for tr...

New to GSP's and correcting misinformation.

Here's my story and what I'm doing... any suggestion would be most appreciated. My story: So my daughter comes home four weeks ago, lugging an empty ten gallon aquarium and a tupperware bowl with this fish in it. She's 17 and her boyfriend gave her this fish. So we set the tank up as freshwater tank...
