Re: Gsp's hiding?
Hi Nitrites are nil too - just tested I have been watching them quite closely this last week. One is coming out a bit more than the other. They are eating, just not as keenly as they were before I noticed a change in behaviour. They seem to be coming out at night and swimming around "normally&q...

Gsp's hiding?
I have 2 gsp's in a 150litre tank. Had them both with 1 bumble bee gobie for about quite a few months. They are about an inch and a half long. Everything was fine, eating well, on view every day and seemed happy. Got 4 more bumble bee's about a month ago. One gsp seemed to take the hump a bit and wo...

Red Cherry Shrimp
Seeing as I need to replenish my snail tank with ramshorn, I got in touch with the guy who I buy them off to get some more. He said he has got some red cherry shrimp and crayfish. Excuse my ignorance but can I feed these to my Gsps? I don't come accross any live food where we live and have never see...

Re: Can anyone help with my snail problem please?
Yes I wash the vegetables, and I peel the carrot when we put it in. Checking it this morning it seems stable at the moment. I feel a bit mean now, it seems really bare in there with no plants!!!But the water flow is better. I wonder did I have too much stuff in there - plants, too much carrot etc. W...

Re: Can anyone help with my snail problem please?
The tank has a built in compartment in the back that hold the filter medium, the powerhead and the heater, the water is drawn in through the top through floss but also drawn from underneath the gravel across the whole bottom of the tank. The actual pump is purely a pump, it is in the filter area and...

Can anyone help with my snail problem please?
Hi We started up a small tank about 8 weeks ago for red ramshorn snails only. Trying to breed them for my 2 GSPs rather than orderering them in. Where we live only 3 fish shops - not many snails. So far so good. Eggs, babies hatching, then the tank goes nuts and the pump stops working properly. Tank...

New owner of a gsp
Hi My friend has given us his 6month old gsp. it's our first morning with him - put him in the tank last night. I gave him a snail and he just sucked out the inside and left the shell. Aren't they meant to crunch on the snail shell?? I got 30 ramshorn snails and put them in my tropical tank in a bre...
