Re: Found One!!!
I just now figgured out how to use the pufferpedia, I always thought it was the section in the forums. :dunce: I guess I'm gonna have to pass on the fahaka, I can't buy one knowing that all I have is a temporary home. Plus, I really don't want to set up a 120 gallon tank for 1 fish. Now I'm gonna re...

Re: Found One!!!
They really need a 120 by themselves.
I was kinda under the impression 75 gallons was ok for 1 of them.
Is a 120 something that I will have to get in a year or will the 75 gallon be ok for 2 years or so.
Because untill I get a new(bigger) house, the 75 gallon is about all the tank I have room for.

Found One!!!
I called a LFS in St. Louis today and they have a 4" fahaka and a 2" fahaka for $39 each. I had planned on turning my tank over to SW but I think I'll go pick up one of these bad boys instead. My tank ph goes from 7.8 after water change to about 8.2 right before water change. 75 gallon tan...

Re: Garlic Extreme
The Garlic Extreme is NOT a medication. It is just a additive for there food that is suppose to help them boost there immune system and intice finnicky fish to eat. Like I said before, it has gotten mixed reviews on whether it actually does in fact help or not. I used it when one of my marine fish s...

Re: New to Brackish Tanks
Thanks so much for the reply. :yourock: Your answer has me somewhat dumbfounded I must admit. :dunce: This next question should probably be moved to an entire different section which I'm probably going to do to. When I first started doing marine tanks all I heard and read "USE RO WATER ONLY&quo...

Re: Garlic Extreme
I used extreme garlic to treat a fish with marine ich. Long story short the garlic didn't help the fish at all. I did notice that the other fish absolutely love it though. I've read mixed reviews about it and LFS that I used to frequent really pushed it too. Use something small(like a shot glass or ...

Re: refractometer
Don't Pannick Like I said earlier I don't have any Brackish water experience, but from what I have learned from past experiences with marine I might be able to help some. First and foremost make sure that hydrometer measures lower SG, your specific gravity may be lower than what the hydrometer was d...

Re: premixing
I'm not experienced with brackish water but I'm assuming the same rules apply to it as it does with Marine. You can use your python to syphon water and vaccum the substrate but you will have to premix whatever water you take out. You CANNOT add the water and then add the salt. Now as far as evaporat...

New to Brackish Tanks
I love GSP's so much I want to set up a 55 gallon for a few of em'. I've done salt and fresh, but I've never tried brackish out. First and foremost do you need RO water for brackish or do you just mix your tap water? I want a white sand substrate, can I use Live Rock (the stuff for salt water aquari...
