DP's do not need salt in there tanks.

I believe the dojos and the pictus will not tolerate the salt. Both are FW fish and the loaches are a scaless fish so the salt will irritate them. I am not sure if pictus are scaless.

THe fish you have are not compatable in terms of water conditions. What size tank do you have since monos and the gsp get large? Not familiar with the shadow fin sharks.

I still run a rena on my gsp tank with a sg of 1.020. But I also have a skimmer running on it now. After I get my tax rebate I will be getting 50-60 pounds of LR for the tank(50 gallon). The tank has been SW since the end of November

Depending on what size tank you end up with I would recommend 2 filters. If you get a 55 gallon I think a canister filter such as the Rena XP-3 or Fluval 404 in conjunction with an Aquaclear 110 HOB filter would be good. If you get a 75/80 gallon tank or larger I would recommend 2 canister filters

There are different types of Biospira for FW and SW. You can use the FW for lowend BW but I'm not sure how high of a SG you can use it on. I'm assuming not much more then 1.004 or so. Are your fish currently in FW or are they in a BW environment? If so what is the SG that they are currently in?

Only other GSP's know the sex of each other as far as I know. How big is your tank? It is recommended that GSP's have at least 30 gallons/fish.

I run a xp-2 on my 50 gallon gsp tank and it has quite a bit of current for the tank. If you use the spraybar attachment and reduce the flow some it might be fine.

I wouldn't get otos until your tank has been set up for awhile. They can be pretty sensitive to newer tank setups and they need a good supply of algae. I have otos in my 46 and they seem to prefer the algae over the wafers.
