Re: C. Irrubesco/ Red-eyed Puffer
my very 2 cents worth, I sort of understand the operation of shipping. Some of the puffers are in really really really (emphasized??) bad living condition prior to shipment. Picture this: 10 full grown Fig 8 in a tank that they can't hardly move, then the suppliers come pick up those which are still...

Re: New hairy puffer

Re: I'll miss you Diddy. RIP
It depends on the retailer bringin in the fishes. Philipines is used to know as cyanide country (or something along the line) in the 70's because of how heavily they uses it on aquarium fishing. But since so much effort have been made in educating , such cyanide fishing is decreasing. Still a small ...

Re: Questions on raising salinity and test-kits
AH.... Is the crushed coral previously whitish in color?? Most prob you're looking at same kind of camoflage. GSP do try to blend into the evironment sometime. using black substrate might cause him to darken his underbelly. But do some WC just in case. I know how you feel abt the darkening of color,...

Re: puffer fry...
WOW. hope it is. One of the first recorded breedins of fig 8 in history if it is. Some pictures would do great. You need some brine shrimp newborns to get those fry to eat. If those frys are in brackish condition when they are born, try to maintain th water parameter / lowering SG just a lil. Normal...

Re: Questions on raising salinity and test-kits
pixie!, I don't think 0.002's alot. this fishes in the wild swims straigh from marine to brackish water then fresh to breed. .002 he might handle. tt's IMO. but to be safe, do like a 10 or lesss WC. it might help remove the undetected ammonia too. abt the switch in test kits, I cant help. Maybe brac...

Re: New hairy puffer
I think you could open up the clam, and throw in the clam with shell on it. this way you could get your congo used to those clams. Then the full shell clam right into tank, and your puffer would work their way in. It really depends on the size of congo too, if it's still small in size, I think they ...

Hmm, I didn't try the filter thing before, but I guess you place the blood worm at the opp end of the water filter inlet. Haha, it's funny when you says filter(s). Is it me, or does anyone else, or you uses two/more filters in their/your tanks? I used one multi-stage internal filter and an air-drive...

Re: Help My GSP PLZ!
Bud, high high chance you lookin at whitspot. Dont overlook this, it sometime kill fast. Most likely your water parameter is bad, casuing stress to the GSP, leading to infection of ICH (which is AWLAYS SOMEHOW PRESENT. DANG). Reduce stress on the fish!, HUGE WC. Heating the water up would speed up t...
