I saw that is says they are brackish, I know up the store I saw them they weren't in brackish water and they seemed to be doing great. Is that poss...

Re: Small Puffers

Well...there are Figure Eights and there are Green Spotted Puffers. Do you remember what they looked like? F8's are low end brackish and GSP's are high end to full marine. Some LFS's have a habit of confusing brackish fish with primarily freshwater. thats it, they were green spotted puffers. can yo...

Small Puffers

I feel bad asking you guys this question but I need an answer or two. I was at a pet store the other day and they had some small puffers that I was looking at and I cannot remember the names of them for the life of me. The guy said they only grow up to about 3 inches and can live with other fish. Th...

Re: Filter Broke

Yea it is a downer for sure. I'll take a break from fish for awhile, at least until I see something that catches my eye at the store or something.

Re: Filter Broke

I think it may be too late. It is looking as if my puffer has seen better days. I really was into having a puffer but now that it is hard to keep a puffer here at school I may just looking to something that needs less from me. Its a sad day..

Re: JJ The Fahaka

Its completely up to you. Live plants are more natural and healthy (they use up nutrients and therefore keep the water more clean), but they are a bit more expense and work. The expense mainly comes from the lighting, but depending on what you are going to try to grow, you might not need special li...

Re: JJ The Fahaka

I have a quick question I have no plants in my tank for my Fahaka and my friend who has one does not have any plants either. My question is should I invest in some sort of plants for my tank or is not not really necessary

Colors

It may be that I am just out of my mind today, but for some reason my Fahaka seems as if his colors are for more drastic today then normal. I am only going to assume that it is a misjudgment on my behalf or is this heard of?

Re: Full Cleaning

If they're like little white wiggly worms on the glass they're planaria they're totally harmless if a little unsightly. They generally occur with overfeeding but becuase the food was missed this could've caused them to appear. Generally they disappear with correct feedings and water changes but I c...

Re: Full Cleaning

I could be completely wrong that it is a parasite, but I am pretty sure that my puffer didnt eat one of his pieces of shrimp that i drop in for him, and it floated up behind the fliter and i missed it until i did a water change the other day. Now I have some sort of of thing on my glass and its all ...

Full Cleaning

I think I have some sort of parasite growing in my tank and I want to take care of it before any damage can be done to my puffer. Is the best thing to do is get some tank water and put the puffer in a bucked with tank water, then take all the water out of the tank and scrub it clean? Or is there som...

Feeding my Fahaka

I just got my first Fahaka the other day, and when I bought him the guy at the pet store gave me 3 goldfish because he said thats what he had been feeding the puffer. I have read that worms are a good way to start feeding him, also crayfish and snails, etc. But to get him eating what should i do? He...
