Re: Devastated
Just want to thank everyone for their kind words. I'm afraid i really cant bring myself to start cutting him open as much as i want to know what happened, something like that is beyond me. Rightly or wrongly he has been buried in the garden and a little shrub placed on top of him. He was a very inte...

Devastated
Havent been on here for a while, I recently had a little one and time is very limited. Plus, Boomer, my MBU was doing fabulous. Was being the word..... I dont know what happened and am curious as to whether anyone at all could have an explaination. Saturday morning, he had his usual 30% water change...

Re: Help with Mbu
Have to say, i thought the same as you..... he likes to dance across the tank, especially at feeding time... 5ft just isnt enough. His new tank will be 8 x 3 x 3. If i can do it, i'm going to try for 10ft, it just means i have to perhaps move the fireplace a little... or maybe just get a smaller fir...

Re: Help with Mbu
I think your article is brilliant i have to say... if only it were law to make people read stuff like this before they are allowed to go off and buy willy nilly. You get home checks when you adopt cats and dogs... why not fish! I think boomer is growing steadily.... he'll be in his new tank by the e...

Re: Help with Mbu
I never actually thought to ask! I'm not blessed with the best choice in shops up here to be honest. I actually prefer to do the 3 hour round trip to Maidenhead Aquatics in York when buying supplies. Having been spoilt for choice with shops down south, good ones are very few and far between up here....

Re: Help with Mbu

Mainly cod, haddock, salmon, cooked mussels, raw king prawns, cooked prawns. They do have a seafood mix but i think its cooked and when checking the ingredia...

Re: Help with Mbu
I have actually tried to do some research on these white spots.... My MBU had them not so long ago, I treated the tank for Ich but they continued to come and go over a period of about 3 - 4 weeks. I have later found out these are not uncommon in MBUs, and not that harmful, but it is a sympton of poo...

I cant actually get a picture now either because the spots that were left have faded somewhat. I am pretty certain they werent spines as they matched the ich description perfe...
