Re: Ok I've learned my lesson, Please HELP! PIX included!
Ok a little update: I did a 50% WC on the QT tank. The puffer's body seems to have less "dusting", but the eyes are getting worst.... It's almost completely white as if someone pour white out on his lense.... I know he can still see cuz when i turned on the flashlight he started swimming a...

In that case then, what if I increase the dose?crazedpuffer wrote:Melafix will probablly work to a certain degree, but not anywhere near as good as it does for FW, and not enough to totally help your puffer.
I think it's more like PP second idea (that the parasite attacked the fishes eye)

So what should I do? Should I stop dosing Ich-x and PraziPro and do a WC and only dose Melafix?Pufferpunk wrote:It is possible that the med burned/irritated the puffer's eye. It's also possible this is a result of the parasite attacking it's eye. See the article in our Library about treating SW "Ich".

Ok I've learned my lesson, Please HELP! PIX included!
For some of you that didn't see my thread... I got a Porky puffer on Sunday( 4 days ago ). 3 days ago my Kole Tang died. The next day (2 days ago) my trigger started to show some sort of ICH-like dots and I can see he has flukes on his eyes. My puffer also started showing signs of Velvet, I see dust...

Re: Meet my new baby porky
Quick updates: 3rd day I've had him and I've tried these foods and he would not go for it: Scallops, Krill, Mysis, Formula 1, ghost shrimps, brine shrimp, and LIVE Rosy Reds!!! All foods are absorbed in garlic, except for the rosies..... Still doesn't want anything that's given to her. I think I may...

Scallops, Krill, Mysis, Formula 1. I might go buy some ghost shrimps if he doesn't eat by the end of today.yunachin wrote:He is a very nice specimen.
What kind of foods have you been trying to feed him?

Meet my new baby porky
Hey guys, this is the 2nd day I've had him. Enjoy the pics and tell me if you see anything wrong with him. :D:D He is 4" big already and is already the LEADER of the tank. The Blue Throat Trigger and LionFish is scared of him, ahhaha. http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/ug.php?g2_view=core.Down...

I was taking a good look at the pictures I took in the LFS about this puffer and I think it's a Scoepfi(sp?)

Help me out with burr?
Ok so I've been looking for a porky puffer and it's really hard this time of year because of the weather.... at least that's what the LFS is telling me. I found a Chilomycterus antillarum (Burr) puffer and was wondering if anyone had one here? I just want to know if they are pretty easy to keep like...

Re: GSP's puffing???
I have a video right here: Note: On this video I was about to give him food so he hasn't touched or eat the food yet. All the fishes rushed near him and he got scared and puffed up. He only partially puffed. People keep commenting "ohhh he's just full of food" and all these crap.... I thin...

Re: Substrate for FOWLR Porky Tank
Agreed, after you add live rock, the sand will also become "live" (a handfull of sand from an established tank would help a lot too). Then you'll have all sorts of detrious-eaters in there to battle nitrates. I'd highly suggest getting a "reef ready" plumbed tank, so you can plu...

Substrate for FOWLR Porky Tank
Hey, I'm current setting up a 120gal FOWLR. Going to get a porky :D My question is will sand be a good thing for a substrate? I have around 200lbs of coarse sand right now because I got a good deal on it. But I was reading some posts and people are saying a bare bottom is better and easier to mainta...
