Re: He has arrived - New Fahaka
I don't know what Prazi Pro is so I have no experience with it. Personally I would just get him eating brine or blood worms and worry about treating it with stuff later.

Re: He has arrived - New Fahaka
Yeah, I meant to move him to mysis when he grows a bit. Mine and the ones at work go for blood worms and live brine best. Then they move to small snails and frozen/thawed brine. Once they put on a month or so growth they will go for mysis. I also feed them a couple four times a day, small amounts. B...

Re: He has arrived - New Fahaka
Congrats on your new little one. I have found at work (lfs/ps) that baby puffers, esp. fahaka that size do well on live brine, frozen blood worm and brine and then can move to mysis. Imotep, my 12 inch Fahaka is just over a year old and I got him at the size of yours. I kept him in a 30gal community...

Re: food variety
calamari is ok though my puffer would only eat it soaked in Garlic ;) That is just 'cause he has taste! ;) You can get Hikari frozen squid too. Though the only type I have seen is cubes and it is fine minced so works for smaller fish. It also has a tendency to float. Works for fish willing to come ...

Re: dwarf puffer and pleco
Personally I don' t keep common plecos as I find they make more poop than they clean up algae....that is why we have scrub pads and razor blades. That said I have an 8 inch Adonis Pleco with my DPs in a community tank with no troubles back or forth. I don' t see a 3-5 inch pleco getting roudy, but b...

Re: feeding how much and dp pictures :)
Like Manutius said, more cover. Then I would throw in some live brine.

Re: DP wont eat
Whenever we get these in at work LFS /PS I start them on live brine. One or two meals and they will go to the frozen. Some will go to frozen brine or blood worm right away but live brine is a sure thing.

Re: Green film?
If it is a velvety sort of thick film or mat I would say it is cyano. That combined with hair algae I would think that you have high phospates and or nitrates. If it were me I would assess if I am overfeeding. Have I done enough and big enough water changes and does my water source naturally have hi...

Imotep, my Fahaka was okay with roommates til he was four inches or so. Then he slowly drove them out by trying to eat them....even though they were all bigger then him. In one night he took most of the dorsal and part of the tail off of a 4inch diameter Parrot. Last fish out of his tank was a 6 inc...
