He just looks stressed to me my fahaka gets those colours when i clean his tank but when the food comes out he goes all stripey and pretty again

my palembang likes to eat shell on prawn and mussels he hides in his cave and when he sees me comes zooming out and attacks the food !

hes in a 165 gallon at the moment and i will upgrade if i need to ,he is very active at teatime but quiet through the day and if i clean his tank he sulks for a day ! but yes i agree that fahakas need very large tanks in order for them to swim and turn properly. My fahaka is about 13 to 14 inch from tip of nose to tip of tail and i have had him for 3 years now i will add a picture soon

have you tried cockles in shell my fahaka loves them he just crushes them into tiny bits , it works well for keeping his beak in check

he is sooo cute he looks so small to my beast he is a gorgeous puffy !

i have read the article in the library about freshwater ick and i was unsure which sort of salt to use . Is it marine salt or just ordinary aquarium salt ?

The fungus is a little better put still there. It just seems to be on his tail, i think i might need somthing stronger to get rid of it What else could i try ?
