He is approx 8 - 8.5 inches. I will prob put him in big bag water in polystyrene box from fishy shop?

Cheers - much the same i am afraid....his eye seems to be getting worse and the other eye now has the pupil bit going the same shade of orange as the iris????? I gotta get my boy to the vets! :(

I would have no problem paying out for a vet...but no idea how to go about looking for one in my local area that actually know about mbu's or any puffer fish. My LFS (there are a few) including Maidenhead Aquatics who are a national Aquatic shop dont seem to know what they are talking about regardin...

lol! Thanks..he is cute.
I dont think its the lateral line as when i got home it appeared better but this morn looked bad again. I am thinking he may have suffered something along those symptons due to disease prev though as cant understand what has made him go blind (ish) and have all these probs.

Oh dear....i had previously posted as my MBU had problems but they seemed to stabilise and i tried nearly everything to rid him of a greenish oil slick looking film over his eyes as it had appeared to make him blind as he was bashing into things. Now one eye has cleared up and today the other appear...

Oh dear....i had previously posted as my MBU had problems but they seemed to stabilise and i tried nearly everything to rid him of a greenish oil slick looking film over his eyes as it had appeared to make him blind as he was bashing into things. I have a small fishtank (unused at present which i could bath him in or a bucket)which would be best?? Is it best to use smallest container? Also, what antibiotic should i use and how long do i bathe him for and over how long a period please? Thanks for all the help guys - he has his normal healthy ...

Hi all - Well the good news is my mbu is eating again (picky..but eating!) :D The bad news is even after treating with Pemafix and Melafix he appears to be left blind. :cry: His eyes look like the pupil bit is greenish (used to be black), not all over but covering approx 3/4 of each eye and he defo ...

My boy finally ate after two weeks last night. I had cut mussel up and went to hand feed him as usual and he ate 3 peices! :D Although i am near the end of the Melafix/Pimafix treatment he is still banging into things and eyes have a kind of oil looking green stuff (not completely covered) so i fear...
