I have one F8 puffer with two knight gobies, one male and one female, in a tall 20G brackish tank for over a year now. The puffer tend to ignore the knight gobies. All three may get a bit aggressive during feeding, but have not caused any injury to each other yet.

can i occasionally feed a knight goby raw lettuce/cabbage, since they're omnivorous?

did your refractometer come with any instructions? it does, but it just says the normal procedures for using the refract. i've used refracts in my school lab before and there wasn't such a problem (then again, they were those $5000 type) i've decided to change the light source to a not-so-bright on...

I'd say it's off a bit, most floating type are off even more than the swing arm type, which are often quite off. Check with the distilled water, your tap water might have oddities in it unknown to you. sad to say, my swing arm hydrometer is even more off, measuring 0.006 for tap water. as it is for...

the poison block the sodium channels in the cell membrane, stopping electrical impulses from being sent (which leads to paralysis and death). puffers themselves have a mutation in this sodium channel, so the poison don't affect them. otherwise, they would have been extinct millions of years ago.
