ha ha. One of my sap's is a constant skitz and the other one just looks at him like he's crazy.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't have both kinds of snails in one tank. Also I have an aquaclear on my snail breeder. Yes there are always some snails in the filter media but it has never affected anything. I get so many snails in my 10 gal that 10-12 snails in the filter doesn't keep my puff...

my dp's love to play in water wisteria and rotala indica. Both are fast growers and would need to be pruned often in a small tank but will make a nice little jungle for the puffers. If you go with the indica try laying it down instead of planting it like a normal stem plant.
